Land and plantation procurement |

Through our network of auctioneers and foresters we can find the plantation that best suits investors requirements. |

| FEL has an extensive list of investors ready to purchase land and plantations. | |||||||||
| Forest valuations | |||||||||
From time to time investors require a current valuation of their plantation. Valuations require site visits to determine productivity, access and other factors. Using our extensive experience in this field we can quickly determine the market value of the plantation. The sale and purchase of land and plantations requires valuations for Capital Gains Tax and Stamp Duty. FEL can provide calculations which are accepted by the Revenue Commissioners. FEL can also value plantations for other purposes such as probate, commercial valuations for audit reasons, valuations for shareholders in a forestry company, etc. Click here to see a summary of Irish Tax law in relation to Forestry. |

| Apart from the afforestation scheme there are a host of other schemes which may be of benefit to your plantation. These include the High Pruning Scheme, Shaping of Broadleaves Scheme, Forest Roading Scheme and Reconstitution Scheme. | |||||||||
| Management planning | |||||||||
| As plantations approach thinning stage it is necessary to plan for the rest of the rotation. Our management plans give details of the present growing stock, a operational plan for a set period and a timber production forecast. | |||||||||
| Forest Roading | |||||||||
| Many of the plantations planted in the late 1980s are nearing thinning stage. In order for them to be thinned it is necessary to construct a road network that will optimise extraction from the plantation. | |||||||||
| Harvesting and Timber Sales | |||||||||

Harvesting is a vital part of the management of a plantation and it is important that it is carried out on time. Thinning provides intermediate income and periods of 3-5 years apart. Many plantations are approaching the most critical harvesting operation - First Thinning. This operation is low value (In many cases loss making) but essential to the future production potential of the entire crop. It is important to clients that the cost of the operation is minimised and that is why it is important to hire FEL. FEL will undertake to minimise cost through combining operations into one and handling both the sale and supervision of the harvesting operation. | ||||||||
